My Obsession With Polaroids

From My Collection

Gem Eating Ice Cream , Andrea E. I was looking for an ice cream shop in Houston that served ube-flavored ice cream because it reminds me of my grandma. Ube is purple, and it’s basically sweet yams in the Philippines. I almost gave up, but I lucked out and found this place.

I’m not entirely sure where my obsession with Polaroids originally came from, but it started several years ago and resurged recently. I mean, this was way before the whole nostalgia/vintage/tangible media trend that hit about two-three years ago. People say that “no one ever prints pictures anymore,” but I think that’s starting to change—with my generation, anyway. Here are a few of my favorite ones!

Gem Eating Noodles , Andrea E. This was taken at dinner one night when we went to try a new restaurant in Chinatown. We ended up getting Thai food, and I think I ordered pad see ew for the first time.
