Favorite Ice Cream Shops in Houston
I. AMY'S ICE CREAMS
First on my list is Amy's Ice Creams, and while it's not exclusive to Houston, it's one of my favorite spots in town. The Mexican Vanilla is delicious and adds a little umph! to an otherwise basic flavor. What I love most about Amy's Ice Creams is that they have a daily riddle and if you guess the correct answer (without cheating and looking it up on your phone) you get a free topping.
Okay so, technically, Pinkberry is a frozen yogurt spot, but I'm throwing it in here anyway. It's probably the most expensive place on the list, but the flavors are always on par. They make it for you, and the ingredients are always fresh. My personal favorite flavor is chocolate hazelnut.
III. MAGIE MOO'S ICE CREAM
I love Maggie Moo's. It's been a town staple since forever. It's one of the few places that carries my favor flavor—cotton candy. They also have ice cream cake. Where can you go wrong?
This ice cream shop is known for its unique flavors. They change up the menu everyday, so if you're someone who's up for a surprise, you definitely have to stop by. The few times I've treated myself to a scoop, or three, I've gotten marshmallow nutella because it's worth the gut. If you're familiar with this shop, let me know your favorite flavors below.
Sprinkles is my favorite cupcake place, and when they added ice cream into the mix, it just got even better. S'mores is always my go-to, but because it's super exclusive and only available seasonally, I turn to hazelnut vanilla cake with vanilla ice cream. Recently, I tried the strawberry and the mango sorbet flavors, and they were true to taste. If you love sorbets, you won't regret it.
Nitrogen is the latest trend in ice cream parlors this year, and that's exactly what Creamistry does. It doesn't melt as fast as regular ice cream, and they have an extensive menu of flavors and toppings to create whatever you want. What separate this nitrogen ice cream parlor from others is that the texture and consistency is a lot better, and it stays cold longer.
I'm all about ice cream (even during the wintertime) so if I missed your favorite ice cream shop, Houston or not, let me know in the comment section below.
